One of the Kava bars I’m shooting this week in Florida

So last night Andrew and I roll into Florida with a piece of Hurricane Isaac hanging over the Interstate.  Squalls and spits of rain finally turn into heavy downpours but we press on.

I’m on a mission to do a photo essay about Kava bars.  Where it’s drank, how it’s drank and why it’s drank.

Come along for the ride!

Oh yah.  Forgot to remind you.  I’ll be back in Asheville shooting Shindig on the Green Saturday night.  Track me down and say hi!

  1. Jerry, I was wondering about you it seemed like it had been a couple of days since I had seen a post. When do you go to Ok, is Ale coming from Brazil? Chuck

  2. Thanks for noticing Chuck! The first week back in Asheville was a time for resting and recovering from the rigors of the shoot in AZ. Being embedded with the vigilantes while they kept an eye out for the Mexican cartel and illegal immigrants is tiring work! I’m in Florida shooting a story on kava bars right now, so hopefully my rants and ramblings will get to be more regular again. Ale will be coming up from Argentina in October to spend some time with me during the Cherokee powwow shoot. I sure would love to figure out a way to get her to Idaho while she’s in the country…she’d love all of you guys! Blessings, thanks for being a reader and please stay in touch.
