FBI knew about government snipers during Occupy Movement

“An identified (DELETED) as of October [2011] planned to engage in sniper attacks against protesters in Houston, Texas, if deemed necessary. An identified (DELETED) had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. (DELETED) planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest groups and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership via suppressed sniper rifles.”

Those eye opening words are found in a document obtained by Houston attorney Paul Kennedy.  Kennedy, who represented many Occupy Houston protesters during the four months the occupation lasted in that city, released the document recently.

Partnership for Civil Justice requested the document in December 2012 and provided Kennedy with a copy of the FBI document.

“The documents clearly state that the FBI had knowledge of a plot, and they’ve redacted out the names of any people and organizations,” Kennedy told the Houston Chronicle.

Other documents that have been released under the FOIA show just how paranoid the US government had become.  Sometimes though you didn’t need to read a document to know it first hand.

There were many days and nights that I stood with friends in McPherson Square (site of OccupyDC) and watched individuals with rifles on the rooftops of the buildings surrounding the park which is just three blocks from the White House.

So sad that the average American citizen refuses to believe what our government is willing to do.
