Schoenstaat Sanctuary, Belgrano, Buenos Aires

JAN_0257Schoenstatt is about eight miles from the city of Koblenz in Germany, and means “a beautiful place”. Inhabited by a group of Augustinian nuns in the 12th century, this branch of the Catcholic church has grown to include about 200 churches worldwide — all of which are built to resemble the original.

In Belgrano, Buenos Aires is one of several Schoenstatt shrines found in Argentina. Located at Echevarria 3632, it was founded October 18, 1963 and just recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.JAN_0264
