What is Christmas South of The Equator Like?

Christmas South of the Equator is not like it is in North America. The weather is in the 90s and no snow.

But there are some unique aspects to celebrating Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere.

There’s a lot of songs with winter imagery in America. Songs like ‘Let it Snow’, ‘Winter Wonderland’, ‘White Christmas’ and so on.

Did you know there’s some songs about the southern imagery for Christmas?

Here are a few.

In the southern hemisphere, especially Australia, Santa’s sleigh isn’t pulled by reindeer, but rather by six white kangaroos.

And here’s the southern hemisphere’s version of Jingle Bells

I realize everyone has heard Jose Feliciano sing Feliz Navidad, it’s one of my favorites too!
