I’m a member of several groups on the popular LinkedIn website. If you haven’t heard of it, LI is kind of like a Facebook for adults. You won’t find “what I had last night for dinner” shots. Or images of “cutesy kittens”. You’ll just find responsible, mature thoughts of people that are in business.
Well, most of the time.

Recently in one of the groups in which I’m a member, “Professional Photographers of America”, there was recently an ongoing discussion about terminology.
Someone with obviously too much time on their hand, started a conversation about the use of the words “capture”, “shoot”, “shooter” and so on. You can read his inane comments in the image below. (Note: you might have to zoom in a little to read them.)
Well, as if that wasn’t bad enough, George had to chime in and show the world that he didn’t have anything better to do that day either.
Finally, in the thread someone with a voice of reason spoke up.
And then there’s the guy with whom I also agree.
Basically, who cares? With all theproblems facing professional photographers today, some of these people want to get hung up on semantics? Really???
So much for “professional” photographers of America. I wish the only problem I had as a photog was the use of words.
